An Nasc – Newsletter 20th November 2018

Nóta ón bPríomhoide:
A Chairde,

Fáilte romhaibh chuig nuachtlitir na seachtaine seo. Ag am seo na bliana cuimhnímid orthu siúd atá imithe ar shlí na fírinne. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha dílseacha. During this month of November, our school community continues to remember and pray for our deceased members of Coláiste Éanna, family, relatives and friends. Last Wednesday, Muintir Choláiste Éanna gathered together in the Church of the Holy Spirit, Ballyroan, for our annual November Remembrance Service. I wish to complement our students on the respectful way in which they attended and participated in the ceremony. A sincere word of thanks to the students and staff who organised and led us in the ceremony, to our musicians and members of the school choir for their enhancement of the liturgy, to the staff of the R.E. and Music Departments and to Fr. Danny MacLennan.

We welcome back our senior history students from their memorable trip to Krakow and Auschwitz Concentration Camp, and thank Mr. Stirling (group leader), Mr. Ó Ceallaigh and Ms. Manley for accompanying them.

Last week was National Science Week, and during this fortnight our Science teachers have been busy in engaging students in the fascinating world of that subject area. Reports to follow in this and the next edition of An Nasc.

Preparations are well under way for our school musical, “The Little Shop of Horrors”: the stage and set are currently being assembled in the Br. Donovan Hall, and final rehearsals are taking place for the cast, musicians and singers. Tickets for the production are available from the school office, and we welcome the support of all attending.

Le gach dea-ghuí

S. Ó Murchú
