U14 Gaelic Football Team 2017-18

The Under 14 Gaelic Football team had a hard fought away win in Celbridge against Salesian College. 

 Led by captain and Man of the Match Paul Basquel (who scored 1 -3) Colaiste Eanna started the much brighter team. Eoin Scully (2-01) playing corner forward combined brilliantly with Basquel and scored two goals and a composed fisted point from a tight angle. Ciaran Kiely also helped himself to two points, one coming from the penalty spot. 

 Dominant midfield displays from Sean Bury and Evan Welsh saw them both score 1-01 apiece. 

 Centre-forward Ross Mullarkey got on a lot of ball and his driving runs saw him finish with 3 points. 

 Colaiste Eanna led 4-7 to 5 points at half time but met a strong Salesian fightback in the second half. Led by strong defensive performances of Barry Maguire, Brendan Creegan and Keelin Smith the team were able to weather the storm. 

 An important catch from Basquel allowed Coláiste Eanna see the game out as Leon Kennedy scored a penalty with the last kick of the game to ensure Coláiste Eanna opened the season with a win. 

 The final score was Coláiste Eanna 6-11 Salesian 3 -10.
